Driving Directions to the Rice Campus

Rice University is located at 6100 Main Street, Houston, TX 77005.  The campus is surrounded by Main Street, Greenbriar Street, Rice, Sunset and University Boulevards.  Questions?  Call us at 713-348-8855.

From the Galleria/Uptown area

1. Take West Loop 610 South and exit to US 59 North/Downtown.
2. Exit US 59 at Greenbriar; stay on the frontage road.
3. Turn right at the Greenbriar light and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
4. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.

From downtown Houston

1. Take Smith Street (a one-way street) until it becomes US 59 South.
2. Exit US 59 at Greenbriar.
3. Turn left under US 59 and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
4. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.

From north, east, south, or west

1. Those approaching Houston on I-45 from the north or south and I-10 from the east or west should then take US 59 South to the Greenbriar exit.
2. Those approaching Houston on US 59 from the north should exit at Greenbriar and turn left on Greenbriar under US 59 toward campus.
3. Those approaching Houston on US 59 from the south should exit at Greenbriar, stay on the frontage road, and turn right on Greenbriar toward campus.
